Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 16, 2026. Last updated: October 16, 2026
89 (paraplan.ai) lets you record a short video ask, share the link with friends and collect their comments. This page explains, in plain language, what we keep and why.
The short version
89 (paraplan.ai and the 89 iPhone app) lets you record short videos (with your camera, or of your screen or a website), make videos from presentations, upload videos from your library, post and share them by link, comment and react, connect with friends, and watch Stories during your own daily hour.
- We collect what you give us and what you do inside 89, so the app works and stays safe.
- We do not track what you do outside 89. No tracking across other apps or websites, no advertising ID (IDFA), no ad networks, no third-party analytics scripts.
- We never sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
- You can delete any video, or your whole account, right in the app (Settings → Delete account).
- Public videos can be watched by anyone with the link, even people who aren't signed in. Think before you post.
- Private videos are not encrypted or guaranteed to stay private. Anyone with the link and password can watch one. Only post as private what you could accept becoming public.
Who we are
89 is run by Know Your Group LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, 3 Germay Dr, Unit 4 #2523, Wilmington, DE 19804, USA. In this policy, "89", "we" and "us" mean Know Your Group LLC. For privacy laws like the GDPR, we are the "controller" of your personal data.
Contact: malytskyyo@gmail.com (privacy, support and copyright)
This policy covers the website paraplan.ai, the 89 iPhone app, and anything else that links to this policy (together, the "Service").
What we collect
1. Account and sign-in information
How you sign in decides what we get:
- Phone number: your phone number. We send a one-time code by SMS through Twilio Verify.
- Google: your Google email address, your Google account ID, your name, and your Google profile photo (we copy it once to use as your 89 photo; you can change or remove it).
- Apple: your Apple user ID, the name you choose to share (if any), and the email Apple shares with us. That email may be a private relay address (ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com) if you chose "Hide My Email."
We also keep records of which phone numbers we sent codes to and when (to stop abuse), and your login session.
2. Your profile
- A display name. If you sign in with your phone, we give you a random two-word name; with Google or Apple, we use the name they share. You can change it any time.
- A photo or avatar: a random built-in avatar to start, a photo you upload, or your imported Google photo.
- Optional details you choose to add, such as a short bio, what you're working on, what you can help with, and links (for example LinkedIn, Instagram, or a website).
- A username or profile link, and your connect code (random, and you can reset it).
3. What you create and post
- Videos you record with the camera, record from your screen or a website (the link recorder), make from presentations or screenshots, or upload from your photo library.
- A still image (thumbnail) made from each video.
- A transcript of what is said in the video, made automatically on our own servers.
- Your caption, any document you attach, and any link you add. For a link, our server fetches the page's title and preview image once to show it as a card.
- Comments you write, as text or as short videos.
- Drafts: recordings you started but did not post.
Your videos can contain more than you expect: your face, your voice, your surroundings, other people, and anything on your screen. Please check before you post.
4. Friends and social activity
- Who you are connected with (by QR code, connect link, or in the app) and when.
- Who you block, and reports you send or that are made about your content.
- Reactions you give and get, such as Spark and Aura.
- Which friends' Stories you have watched (so we can mark new ones), and when your daily Stories hour started and how much is left. To count your hour by your local day, we store your time zone.
5. Activity inside 89
We keep a simple record of what happens inside 89, counted by our own server: for example, opening the app or a video link, how long the app stays open, watching, starting a recording, posting, sharing (and where you shared to, like WhatsApp or "copy link"), signing up, logging in, commenting, downloading, and errors the app runs into. With each record we keep your device type, operating system and browser. We use this to run 89, fix bugs, prevent abuse, and understand which features people use.
To count visitors, we use a one-way scrambled code made from your network address and browser type. We don't store the address itself in these records, and the code can't be turned back into it.
The first time you open 89 in a browser, we note how you got here: the shared or invite link you opened (which video, who shared it, and how, like WhatsApp or "copy link"), the website that sent you, and whether you're on the website or the iPhone app. This is kept in the "ft" cookie and saved with your sign-up if you create an account.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services. If you install a test (TestFlight) build of the iPhone app, Apple may share crash reports you agree to send with us.
6. Device and technical information
- Your IP address when you post a comment or make certain requests, to fight spam and abuse. We keep it for up to 90 days.
- Browser type, device type, app version and operating system, as sent by your browser or the app.
- If you allow notifications in the iPhone app: the push token Apple gives that device, and its time zone.
- Cookies that 89 needs to work (see "Cookies" below).
We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, or data from other apps on your phone.
7. Connected assistants
If you connect an AI assistant (for example by adding 89 as a connector in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, or by creating a token in Settings → Connected assistants), we store a scrambled fingerprint of the token, its name, and when it was created and last used. A connected assistant can read your videos, captions, transcripts and the comments you received, including commenters' contact details if they are shown to you, until you revoke it. It is read-only: it can't post, comment or change anything. What that assistant does with the data is covered by its own provider's privacy policy.
8. When you contact us
If you email us, send a report, or send feedback in the app, we keep that message and our reply. In-app feedback also includes any screenshot you choose to attach, the page you were on, your device, operating system, app version, screen size, language, and the last error the app ran into.
What we don't do
- We don't track you outside 89. We don't follow what you do in other apps or on other websites.
- We don't use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) and we don't show ads.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising (as California law defines those terms).
- We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
- We don't use face recognition or create face or voice prints from your videos.
- We don't read your contacts or your photo library. When you upload, you pick specific videos with Apple's picker.
Phone permissions
The iPhone app asks for permission before using:
- Camera and microphone: only while you record a video or a video comment.
- Screen recording: only while you record your screen or a website, and the app shows that recording is on.
- Photo library: only to pick a video to upload, or to save a video you chose to download.
- Notifications: for comment alerts, friend activity and reminders. You can turn them off in Settings at any time.
You can change any permission in your iPhone Settings. 89 still works without the ones you turn off; only that feature won't.
How we use your information
We use your information only to:
- Run 89: sign you in, store and show your videos, make thumbnails and transcripts, deliver comments, connect you with friends, run Stories and your daily hour, and send notifications you allowed.
- Keep 89 safe: stop spam, fake accounts and abuse of login codes; review reports; enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines; protect users and the public.
- Improve 89: understand which features are used and fix problems, using our own in-app activity counts.
- Promote 89: we may use public videos posted on 89, including the creator's name and profile photo, to promote 89 in our app, website, social media and ads. We never use private videos or videos from users under 18 for this. If you don't want a public video used, email us and we'll stop using it in new promotions. This doesn't involve tracking you or sharing your information with ad networks.
- Talk to you: answer support requests and send important notices (for example about your account, security, or changes to these policies). We don't send marketing messages. If we ever offer marketing messages, they will be opt-in only.
- Follow the law: respond to valid legal requests and meet legal duties.
We won't use your information for a new, unrelated purpose without telling you and, where required, asking first.
Legal bases (for users in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Contract: to provide the Service you signed up for (account, videos, sharing, comments, friends, Stories).
- Legitimate interests: to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, promote 89 with public videos, and improve it using our own in-app activity data. You can object to this; see "Your rights."
- Consent: for optional things like push notifications, importing your Google photo, and connected assistants. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: when the law requires us to keep or share information.
AI features
- Transcripts: speech-to-text runs on our own servers. Your video's audio is not sent to an outside AI service for transcription.
- Caption summary (the sparkle button): when you tap the sparkle, we make a short suggested caption from your video's transcript. Nothing happens unless you tap it, and you can edit or delete the suggestion before posting.
Today the suggestion is made on our own servers by a simple rule-based method; your transcript is not sent to any outside AI service. If we ever start using an outside AI provider for this, we will name it in this policy before we do, send it only the transcript text (never the video or audio), use it only under API terms that do not allow it to train its models on that text, and ask for your permission in the app the first time you tap the sparkle.
- We don't use your videos, transcripts or comments to train AI models, and we don't let anyone else do so.
Who can see what you post
- Public videos: anyone with the link can watch the video, see your name, photo and caption, read the transcript (if shown), see comments, and download the video and its attachment. People who are not signed in can watch public videos too, but must sign up to comment. We don't list videos in a public directory, but anyone can forward a link, and a link that is posted publicly somewhere may be found by search engines.
- Stories: signed-in members see Stories during their own one-hour window each day (we call it 8–9 PM). Your friends see your public videos in the circles at the top, and other signed-in members may also see public videos in Stories.
- Private videos: if you post a video as private, it is hidden from your connections, Stories and your public profile, and only you see it in the app. Anyone who has its link and its password can watch it, so anyone you send them to can forward them to others. Private videos are not encrypted, and we can't guarantee no one else will ever see them. They may be accessed by people you share them with, by people they share them with, because of a technical error or security breach, by our team and service providers when needed to run, secure or moderate 89, or when the law requires it. Don't post anything as private that you couldn't accept becoming public.
- Your profile: your bio, links and the videos listed on your profile are shown to you and your connections. Anyone else who opens your profile link sees only your photo, first name and that the profile is private.
- Comments: visible to anyone who can view the video. For a public video, that includes people who aren't signed in. For a private video, that includes anyone who has its link and password.
- Blocked people can't see your content or comment on it, and you won't see theirs.
Once someone has seen or downloaded something, we can't take back the copy they made. Deleting a video removes it from 89, but not from someone else's phone.
Who we share information with
We share information only as described here:
- Service providers who help us run 89, under contracts that require them to protect your data and use it only for us:
- Railway (United States): hosting, storage and database.
- Cloudflare: delivers the website securely and quickly.
- Twilio (Twilio Verify): sends SMS login codes, so it receives your phone number.
- Google: "Continue with Google" sign-in, if you choose it.
- Apple: "Sign in with Apple" and push notifications for the iPhone app.
- Other users, as described in "Who can see what you post."
- Connected assistants you chose to connect.
- For safety and the law: if we believe in good faith it's needed to follow a law or valid legal process, to protect someone from harm, to investigate fraud or abuse, or to enforce our Terms. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as US law requires.
- If 89 is sold or merged: your information may move to the new owner, who must keep honoring this policy or tell you first.
- With your consent, in any other case.
We never sell your personal information.
How long we keep information
- Account and profile: until you delete your account.
- Videos, transcripts, captions, attachments: until you delete them or your account.
- Comments: until you or the video owner delete them, or you delete your account.
- Drafts you never posted: deleted automatically after 24 hours.
- Login sessions: expire after 180 days.
- Login code records: up to 30 days.
- In-app activity records: up to 13 months, then kept only as totals that don't identify you.
- IP addresses on comments: up to 90 days.
- Reports, in-app feedback and moderation records: up to 2 years, longer only if needed for safety or legal reasons.
- Backups: deleted data may stay in backups for up to 30 days before it's overwritten.
After you delete your account, we remove your data within 30 days. We may keep a small amount longer if the law requires it, or to stop a banned person from coming back (for example a scrambled copy of a phone number or email from a suspended account).
Your choices and rights
Everyone can:
- See and edit your profile in the app.
- Delete a video (⋯ → Delete video → Are you sure? → Yes) or your whole account (Settings → Delete account). Deleting your account also removes your videos, comments, connections and profile, and disconnects Sign in with Apple.
- Turn notifications off in Settings, or in iPhone Settings.
- Block or report anyone, and remove connections.
- Revoke connected assistants in Settings → Connected assistants.
- Disconnect Google or Apple from 89 in your Google or Apple account settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing malytskyyo@gmail.com. We'll send you a copy of your videos and data in a common format.
We'll answer within 30 days (45 days for California, with a possible extension we'll tell you about). We may need to confirm it's really you, usually by asking you to confirm a code sent to your phone or to email us from the address on your account.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
In the last 12 months we collected these categories: identifiers (phone, email, account IDs, IP address); customer records (name); internet or network activity inside 89; audio and visual information (your videos); inferences: none; sensitive personal information: account login credentials (a phone number plus a one-time code, or Google or Apple sign-in). We use them for the purposes above, and we do not sell or share personal information or use sensitive personal information to infer things about you. You have the right to know, access, correct and delete, and to not be treated differently for using these rights. You can use an authorized agent. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. Because we don't sell or share, there's nothing to opt out of; we also respect Global Privacy Control signals.
Other US states
If your state gives you privacy rights (for example Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon), you can use them the same way, including the right to appeal a decision by replying to our answer. We honor these requests even where the law may not require it.
EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your data, to get it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can complain to your local data protection authority. Our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (running 89), our legitimate interests (keeping 89 safe and improving it), your consent (for example notifications), and legal obligations.
Children
89 is not for children under 13. You must be at least 13 to use 89, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you're under 18, please use 89 with a parent or guardian's permission. If we learn a child under 13 has an account, we will delete it and its data. Parents can contact us at malytskyyo@gmail.com.
Security
We protect your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), scrambled (hashed) tokens, limits on login attempts, and access limited to the people who run 89. No system is perfect, so we can't promise perfect security. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
International users
89 is run from the United States and our servers are in the United States (Railway). If you use 89 from another country, your information will be moved to and stored in the US, where privacy laws may differ from yours. We protect it as this policy describes wherever it is processed. Where the law requires, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses offered by our service providers.
Text messages (SMS)
If you sign in with your phone, we send a one-time login code by SMS when you ask for one. We send only messages you request, such as login codes; we don't send marketing texts. Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile number is not shared with anyone for their marketing.
Do Not Track
We don't respond to browser Do Not Track (DNT) signals, because there is no common standard for them. We do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as described in the California section above.
Cookies and similar technology
89 uses only cookies it needs to work. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
- sid: keeps you logged in (180 days)
- ad: holds a recording you made before signing in (7 days)
- rk: lets you finish a comment from the same browser (1 year)
- gs: protects Google sign-in (10 minutes)
- pc: remembers a connect code you opened before signing up (7 days)
- tz: your time zone, so your daily Stories hour follows your local day (1 year)
- ak: counts a spark from a visitor who isn't signed in, once per browser (1 year)
- ft: how you first found 89 (the shared or invite link you opened, or the website that sent you), so we know which ways of sharing work (180 days)
- pdev: in the iPhone app, links this phone's notification token to your account (1 year)
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is important (for example a new kind of data or a new use of it), we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and ask for your consent where the law requires.
